The Friends of Lavenham Airfield invite you to a day celebrating the legacy of the 487th Bomb Group who were based in Lavenham during World War 2.
Following the Church Service of Remembrance for United States Army Airforce Personnel, marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, we all head to the Airfield for mid-day to re-dedicate the memorial and hear the names of the 233 men who lost their lives being read.
This year marks the 80th anniversary since the end of World War Two so it is an important time to give thanks.
Families of veteran Airmen will join us from the USA, so do bring a picnic and help us remember those brave men who gave so much in the cause of freedom.
