Advent Study Course

Hope, peace, joy, and love are the four central themes of the Christian season of Advent.

These themes are reflected on during the four weeks leading up to Christmas, with each week focusing on one aspect. They represent a spiritual and emotional preparation for the birth of Jesus and are intended to guide believers through meaningful reflection and a deeper connection with their faith.

Hope

The first week of Advent often focuses on hope, representing the anticipation of Christ's coming.

Peace

The second week is dedicated to peace, encouraging a sense of calm and a slowing down from the pressures of daily life.

Joy

The third week of Advent emphasizes joy, reminding people of the happiness associated with the upcoming celebration.

Love

The final week of Advent culminates in love, reflecting on the greatest love shown through the birth of Jesus.

The course will run for four sessions on Wednesdays 26 November to 17 December. The first three (26 Nov, 3/10 Dec) are after the midweek Communion Service, from 11.30am to 1.00pm, and the final session (17 Dec) is from 3.00pm to 4.30pm. All sessions take plac in the Jubilee Room, Tenterpiece.

Any course materials will be provided free of charge.
