 ing Statesman\, Churchman and Patron of the Arts in the service of King He
 nry VIII. Thanks to Wolsey being Henry’s Lord Chancellor and friend\, hi
 s Master played a greater role in European politics than any in more than 
 a century. The church was also in desperate need of reform\, which Wolsey 
 initiated\, being responsible for the new Renaissance culture in England.
