Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come Celebrates 10 Years

Thy Kingdom Come (TKC), to be held this year from 29 May to 8 June, is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray, from Ascension to Pentecost, for more people to come to know Jesus. This year it celebrates its 10th year, and it is now held in nearly 90% of countries worldwide, across 85 different denominations and traditions.

This year the focus will be on the Lord’s Prayer itself. The ‘Our Father’ prayer transcends the ages – uniting people across different denominations, generations and nations, and we believe now more than ever that we need to pray ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ – over our homes, communities, nations and our world.

At Lavenham Church, there will be a fixed Prayer Station in the Lady Chapel with Rembrandt’s painting The Return of the Prodigal Son as a focal point; Morning Prayer said daily (except Sunday) at 9am in the Lady Chapel; a Garden Prayer Day on Tuesday 3 June (11am–4pm – visit any time) at the home of Margaret Maybury – Genesis Corner, Clay Hall Lane, Acton, CO10 0AQ with three prayer areas for creation, the world, and love (level access; no dogs please).
